PAR awarded Prime Supplier of the Year

PAR awarded Prime Supplier of the Year for diversity contributions

At its sixth annual Supplier Diversity Awards and Recognition Reception, Kansas City Power & Light (KCP&L) presented PAR Electrical Contractors, Inc., with its 2017 Prime Supplier of the Year award. PAR was honored for significant contributions to diversity efforts in the community and excellent customer service.

By offering innovative business solutions and ensuring diverse suppliers played a significant role in projects, PAR met specific criteria of the Prime Supplier award. PAR also exemplified a strong partnership with KCP&L employees.

“Over the years, KCP&L and PAR Electric have forged a long-lasting relationship that has been mutually beneficial to both organizations,” Supplier Diversity Manager Valerie Coyazo said, at the awards ceremony. “From working with our high line maintenance team to building underground vaults in downtown Kansas City, PAR has continued to be a valued supplier that KCP&L can rely on.”

In conversations around performance and both organizations’ roles in assisting Kansas City communities, “diversity was always a primary focus,” Coyazo said.

Cameron Scott, Director Midwest, accepted the award on PAR’s behalf.
